Chingoteague Island & Cape Charles

Chincoteague is an island at the top of the Eastern Shore peninsula, right next to Maryland. (We actually drove up to Maryland, crossed the state line, and turned around, just to say that we've been there!) Our B&B was on the Southern tip, so it was about an hour drive up to the island. It was pretty roten weather, but we didn't mind...that's what adventures are made of, right? Chincoteague is home to wild ponies, lots of marshes and this historic lighthouse:

Are we gonna head out there?

I guess so! It was insanely stormy and windy windy windy. The wind roared so loud you could hardly hear each other talk.
We had to leave our hats inside when we walked out at the top of the lighthouse:

See the baby on the far left?!?! They were so beautiful:

The waves on the shore of Chincoteague were crazy. And as you can see by our clothes, the wind was outrageous:

That wave behind me crashes into me and almost takes me out to sea as the shutter was closing, and I was soaked to the knees for the rest of the day!

Davids shirt is a great way to let you see the wind:

Cape Charles is the little town where our B&B was located:
