*The Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel*

The Eastern Shore where we stayed is actually a peninsula coming down from Maryland. To get to it, you have to go across the Chesapeake Bay via the huge Bridge Tunnel. The bridge is over 17 miles long, and when you're in the middle you can't see land in any direction! At two points the bridge goes under the water in tunnels so that the boats and barges can go over instead of under the bridge. We loved riding across the bridge! We kept a look out for dolphins, which lots of people say you can see most days, but we were unfortunate in that endeavor. Still, it was amazing, and quite a feat of engineering!
Pretty water between the bridges.

David loves them Indians!! (I know, I know, it's Redskins, yeah yeah...) This was in the middle of the bridge at the Fishing Pier Gift Shop.

The fishing pier off of the Bay Bridge Tunnel.

The tunnel is under there!

Mmm, somebody's havin shark for supper!

Atop the peak of the bridge.
