hmm

why does batman have to talk so gruffy? it's got to be uncomfortable to talk like that for a whole movie. is it to disguise his identity? im not sure. but he sure does sound gruffy.

*little sister*

practically my little sister, megs spent every afternoon with us after Arts Camp this past week. thursday night she spent the night...she loves wearing my nightgowns! i love her so much and miss her when she isn't here...of course, soon, she'll live with us all the time because according to her when she get grown up and done with college she will move in with david, ruby and myself. when i said 'what about a husband and your own babies?' she said, 'oh. i don't need a husband. i'm adopting.'

.dripping in jewels.

I've always wanted some creative way to hang my jewelry since I don't like jewelry trees or cabinets or any of your traditional ways of keeping it all untangled. I want to be able to see it to pick out what I want to wear. After we moved, I found this picture in a magazine and I thought, 'Hey! I can do that!'

So I'm working on it. I still have quite a few to make, but here is what I've done so far:

They will hang on the wall eventually...we are still waiting for our custom made iron frame bed to arrive until we can hang things. We will have to see where we want to put it and then go from there...Until then, I'll keep crankin out these pretty little jewelry frames!

Chair Re-do

Though I've always enjoied crafty things, and was super crafty as a teen, I'm new at doing 'grown-up' crafty things! So silly me, I forgot that I would need a 'before' picture of the chair that I redid. Half way thru, I realized that I hadn't taken one, so I started in the middle. This chair was my Mama Two's. I painted it, distressed it, and re-upholstered the seat. I love how it turned out!

:cherries:

Our beautiful tree in our backyard is positively covered in cherries! I can't wait to try my hand at making a homemade cherry pie...that is, if I can keep David from eating them all!

Home Sweet Home

People keep askin' to see pics of the inside of the house, so here are a few. I guess I've just been waiting to get everything painted and put up... It's gone so much slower than I had anticipated! I was the girl that got her college dorm room in exact perfect condition within the first 36 hours while everyone else was off gallivanting around campus. Then, by the first day of school, I was up and running while all my friends were fighting their way thru boxes. I think we just have way nutty schedules what with my job being practically 24/7 and David having his mowing buisness in addition to his HEMC job, which also has a lot of evening hours...this makes turning our home into 'our home' go slower than we would like! Still, all of this considering, I think we've done pretty well, including outside. We've done a lot of landscaping and flower beds, etc. Not to mention the outdoor stove that we've installed that will heat our house, water, dryer, etc, saving us hundreds of dollars a year!

Here's the chair I redid. It was my grandmothers. I painted it, distressed it, and reupholstered the seat. I think it looks great!

The flash on my camera is so wierd and wouldn't work for this pic, so it's a little dark.
The kitchen and dining room are joined.

The Outdoor Furnice has been a huge project for David, and I am super impressed with him :) Here he is with part of the mini retainer wall he bulit.

And after we poured the concrete for the base, I had never put my handprints in wet cement, so David and I made our mark! It looks different than I expected, but I mean, it's cement, so I'm not sure what I thought it would turn out like! I still love that I finally got to do it, and hopefully this will be here long after we aren't anymore.

lake=bliss.

No sound of wheels or hoof-beat breaks
The silence of the summer day,
As by the loveliest of all lakes
I while the idle hours away.

I pace the leafy colonnade
Where level branches of the plane
Above me weave a roof of shade
Impervious to the sun and rain.

At times a sudden rush of air
Flutters the lazy leaves o'erhead,
And gleams of sunshine toss and flare
Like torches down the path I tread.

Sentimental Fool

Despite all my efforts to not be such, I am a sentimental fool. A good heart wrenching commercial can make me boo hoo in an instant. This one from State Farm just about had me in a puddle on the floor the first time I saw it. I guess I can just chop it up to the fact that I really love to be inspired, and I love to see people embracing the world changer in them. At any rate, here's the latest tear-jerker:

And we have had a LOT going on lately, including Salyssas 1st Birthday Party, Confirmation Sunday, the CEC Graduation, and our long anticipated 1st trip to the lake of the summer...soon as I can, Ill post some pics!
